The Scenario - Sets the Scene for the 2008-2009 Championship


The Canadian and World competitions for the 2007-2008 Formula One Technology Challenge Championships were very exciting this year. The worlds were hosted by the Malaysian Department of Education and all participants were treated as honoured guests.

Back at home the upcoming season will increase again with even more with experienced teams back for more action. As well teams are set to compete from Manitoba and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Like their larger fuel-driven F1 cousins, the same strict rules and regulations continue to apply to your CO2 car designs. Similarly, all cars in the challenge will continue to be powered by identical specification engines – compact CO2 (carbon dioxide gas) power plants.

Design plays a critical role in the success of the team – both the car itself and the people involved in bringing that design from the initial idea to the starting grid. Team members must be carefully chosen and trained to work together, using cutting-edge design software and the latest in manufacturing technology.
